NDC Executives of the Northern Region of the ruling party NDC have suspended the party’s Communication Officer of the Bunkpurugu Constituency, Mr Moisob Ephraim Bidobi for revealing confidential party information without approval by the executives.
A statement issued in Tamale on Thursday, signed by Mr Halid Abdul-Rauf, Northern Regional Secretary of NDC, said Mr Bidobi’s disclosure of confidential party information to the media violated Article 45(8)(b)(c) and Article 46(c) of the party’s constitution.
It said this disclosure “Is intended to embarrass the party and bring the constituency executives of Bunkpurugu into hatred and ridicule”.
The statement said that Mr Bidobu by his suspension, which took effect from 1st October 2015 ceased to remain the Communication Officer of the Bunkpurugu Constituency.
The statement also included a warning to the other members and executives of NDC that anyone violating the party’s constitution and the guidelines set out for the conduct of the party parliamentary primaries of 7th November will face the similar results.
The statement advised the members and executives of NDC “to remain impartial and create a level playing ground for all candidates”.
On the other side, the suspended Communication Officer Mr Bidobi showed disappointment at the party’s decision. He said, he was not given a chance to explain himself concerning the issue.
