John Ndebugri has revealed that one of his clients has openly confessed that he took bribes as was caught by investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas in his video regarding corruption in the judiciary.
Lawyer Ndebugri, who is leading 14 of the judges implicated in the investigative piece to court to stop the Chief Justice from proceeding with the public inquiry into the matter, made this disclosure on media on Saturday.
He told that just yesterday, one of my clients contrary to the instructions to gave, visited to the panel and admitted his guilt.
According to him, he has no other option apart from withdrawing from the case and walking out of the committee hearing after the admission.
14 Circuit Court judges have hauled the Judicial Council to the Fast Track High Court over disciplinary proceedings instituted against them for supposedly receiving bribes to compromise their decisions.
The fourteen judges are seeking to stop the work of Disciplinary Committee currently collecting facts for onward submissions to the Judicial Council.
The accusers are , Benjamin Yaw Osei, Emmanuel Kofi SunuKodwo Filson, Seyram Tsatsu Azumah, Florence Ninepence and Isaac Akwantey.
Others are , Alfred K. A. Mensah, Jacob Amponsah, Albert Zoogah, Michael Gyamfi Boamah, Isaac Amoah, , Paul Alhassan, William Baffoe Stephen Asuure.
They are looking for a declaration that the disciplinary proceedings by the Judicial Council against the plaintiffs are opposed to law and or due process.
However, Lawyer Ndebugri failed to name the judge who admitted his guilt when he approached the committee.
