Mrs Mona Quartey the Deputy Minister of Finance has assured the customer division of GRA of government support to start the process of Customs Classification and Valuation Report (CCRV).
The Customs Classification and Valuation Report have also known as Final Classification and Valuation Report and it will start in September 1.
Mrs Quartey said after a familiarization visit that the government is confident about allowing the customers to pay their role.
She said I am sure from what I have seen that the personnel and the system are ready to start the single window operations in September,
In new system freight forwarders, customers, stakeholders, and brokers would work jointly to support Ghana’s trading community.
She said although there are some initial teething issues but the plans would make sure a hitch-free and seamless transition as possible.
The Pre-Arrival Assessment Report (PAAR) system is a shared risk platform and it would help to overcome the inefficiencies in the present system.
The system would support authorized officials to perform a complete assessment of imported goods by risk assessing, valuing and classifying them, based on international conventions and standards.
Chief Executive Officer West Blue Consulting limited, Valentina Mintah has pledged the delivery of single window project.
She said proper preparations had been made to guaranteed successful result of the project, adding that government agencies, customers and clients are ready.
However she called for vigilance for both external and internal risks that might be start during the operations like, behavior of customs and sabotage of systems.
She guaranteed that there are backup systems for every area to reduce risk affects in environment.
