A licensed buying company Kuapa Kokoo Limited (KKL) has exceeded its production of cocoa more than the production target.
They achieve their target before the end of crop season.
There was a target of 640,000 bags of cocoa production but the company has bought 720,000 bags at the end of July 2015.
This was declared at the Annual Delegates Conference of Farmers Union of the Kuapa Kokoo in Kumasi.
President of the Kuapa Kokoo Farmers Union Madam Fatima Ali, stated that the farmer union of Kuapa Kokoo farmers will continue to support Kuapa Kokoo Limited to maintain the fair trade standards.
It is the duty of all members to sell their products to KKL to strengthen our LBC. She said.
KKL purchased 983,823 bags of cocoa in main crop season of 2013/2014 and during 2014 during light crop season it purchased 13,166 bags of cocoa.
The revenue of the company increased by 58 percent between two years, from Gh3,220,000 to Gh5,088,000.
While income dropped by 80.9 percent from Gh230,735 to Gh44,016.
The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has praised the company for its best performance and timely payment of loans.
Currently, the Kuapa Kokoo has 6.9 percent shares of Ghana cocoa production.
Membership of union has increased to 100,500 across the Central, Ashanti, Western, Eastern and Brong Ahafo Regions.
The Farmer union of Kuapa Kokoo also owns shares of 44 percent in Divine Chocolate Limited which is based in UK and its franchise is in USA.
