Mr. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, a member of parliament, said to Adamus Mining Resources Limited (AMRL), a Gold mining company, to get a social license from the community of Anwia so that the peace of the community will not affect.
He also advised Adamus to involve local community members of Ellembelle in their working and recognize the problems of local people of Ellembell for the sake of making an advantageous environment for working.
These advised said by Mr. Buah when he visited on an emergency basis to the Adamus in Anwia in Western Region.
The youth of Wellembell protested last week against Adamus and their objective was that “why Adamus is crossing its boundaries of operations and blasting the rocks near the living area for the sake of their own interest?”
Due to their aggressive strike on July 9, some soldiers deployed on the mining site and in Ellembelle.
Mr. Buah visited on the site and advised to the local people to be in control when they will tell their issues to EPA (environment protection Agency) and Mineral commission.
He also asked Adamus to stop blasting near the area where people live, this will impact on the lives and their property.
The Chief of Anwia said that now the blasting of rocks near living area is not bearable and it is becoming more intensifying from the last few days, the Chief said in an interview.
The chief “Nana Simalee Kpanyinli V,” said to the officials of Adamus in a meeting at his palace, that we will not let you start mining until the Company Erect the boundary and clarify the working area.
