The government is paining to establish 200 day senior high schools SHSs, A Deputy Minister of Education, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa informed.
He said that the plan is not only a political statement but the government is aiming to provide access to high school education to more citizens.
Mr Okudzeto Ablakwa said this while addressing the ceremony of handing over 25 acres of land for the construction of SHSs in the Adaklu district.
The estimated budget for the project is GHC11million within a time spam of 15 months, it consists a four story building with 24 classrooms, 8 small houses for teachers and a headmaster’s residency, a cafeteria and a borehole.
The contract is given to Sabah Construction Limited and MacCoby Limited, with Conpro Limited as the consultant.
This program is established in only 23 constituencies from total 275 and Adaklu Constituency is one of them, Mr Ablakwa stated.
Moreover he told that the project is of keen impotence for the government and the funds of it had been deposited in the National Investment Bank (NIB), so there should not be any delay in the program, he advised the contractors.
Mr. Kwame Agbodza, The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Adaklu Disrict has bought a pickup to facilitate the operation of Adaklu Senior High School.
Mr. Francis Ganyaglo, the Deputy Volta Regional Minister congratulates the government to fulfill one more promise and he advised the contractor’s to engage the community people in the project.
He publicized the construction of a sports stadium near Adaklu in a 100 acres area.
Togbe Agbobada, Chief of Adaklu responded that NDC is in the hearts of Adaklu people.
