Presideny Muhammadu Buhari
Femi Adesina, the special advisor to the President of Nigeria, has said in his interview to BBC last night that the Nigerian government is ready to start negotiations with Boko Haram, the Islamist militant group.
This has clarified the Nigerian government’s viewpoint on the issue.
Nigeria has putting some mechanism to overcome Boko Haram from a multinational level; Mr. Adesina has said this in a press release issued from his office in Abuja.
Moreover the government will consider table talks with the terrified militant group if they agreed on it, the statement explained.
Femi Adesina stated that we learnt from history that mostly the violent and brutal warfare ended with negotiation. So if boko haram will come forward for it, the government will not oppose it.
But don’t consider this act of government as weakness, It’s the strength for the peace of our country, he said.
The government has made all the preparations to decapitate boko haram because this fitna is not only a threat for Nigeria but for its neighboring countries also.
President Muhammadu Buhari is firm in his promise to Nigerians. He had won the battle before and will win also in future.
But he asserted again that if the rebels want to come on table, they government will give them a chance as every decent management do so. He gave the example of America and Taliban’s negotiations in Afganistan.
