The producer of Ghanaian movie Socrates Sarfo has disclosed that he ceased movie production because of his huge unpaid debt.
He revealed that “movie is element of show business and it’s not just for joy or a piece of art. We have movies we act for fun, but I am a show entrepreneur. So if the business facet,which promotes the show isn’t there, then the inspiration to do it is not there too, because we do movies with debts.”
Socrates Sarfo who makes an illusion to producing money at one time before from production of movies says, that film industry has perceive a weaken making displeasing to invest in.
The maker of the controversial movie ‘Hot Fork’ revealed that he took debts and had to escape from his creditors because he couldn’t stop even from the movies, produced by him.
He said that “I do not see the feeling in going for a loan to shoot a movie and then I will not be capable to return. And then I would have to switch my number, and I would have to get away from my office and always have to be looking back when I am driving there. I need a self-determining mind and be able to attend each phone call.”
Somehow he believed in the school of thought that explains the Ghanaian movie industry as lifeless, Socrates Sarfo said that the film industry is in collapse waiting for expiration.
Although, Abeiku Sagoe,an experienced actor cum director & producer said that the controversial movie ‘Hot Fork’ is what has ruined the movie career of Socrates.
