Yaw Yeboah late strike through late penalty saved a day for the Black Satellites in their opening game against Austria which ends in a 1-1 draw in the U-20 FIFA World Cup in New Zealand.
Austrian Gshweideil strikes in the second half of play, seemed to have won the contest for the Europeans, until the Yaw Yeboah late penalty earns a point for the Black Satellites.
The opening game of the FIFA U-20 World Cup for Ghana ended in a 1-1 draw, thanks to some impressive goal keeping from Lawrence Atti –Zigi.
Austrians dominate the first half with their wonderful performance in the field, but denied to score by the satellite goal keeper with impressive saves from the boots of Lucas Gugganic on two occasions.
In the second half, just five minutes of play, Austrian score the goal to go ahead in the game, but a last minute penalty earns Black Satellites a single point, despite not being in great form thorough out the game.
Yeboah shot from the penalty spot sent the Austrian goalie, Cassali, the wrong way for the game’s equalizer.
We are not happy with today’s performance, but hope to win in our remaining games to make sure we qualify for the knockout stage.
The other game in the group between Argentina and Panama also ended in a 2-2 draw, which leave the group wide open.
