A latest US study suggests 70 percent of drivers use their smart phones behind the wheel and not just to attend calls but to take selfies as well.
The study suggests that 61 percent use their smart phones for texting, 33 percent for attending to emails are topping the list of activities of the drivers. 17 percent of respondents in the study said that they click selfies when behind the wheel.
Among other, trend of social media is strong among drivers. Drivers on Facebook while driving are 27 percent, Twitter with 14 percent, Instagram with 14 percent and Snapchat with 11 percent and video with 10 percent is also among these activities.
62 percent respondents admitted that they while driving keep the smart phone within the range that is easily accessible, response of posting on Twitter “all the time” was positive by 30 percent of respondents.
A survey carried out by US-based AT&T, a telecommunication company found that 22 percent people responded by saying they access social networks behind the wheel, while 27 percent said they have no problem clicking a selfie while driving.
The survey that is a part of a campaign of AT&T labeled as “It Can Wait”, surveyed 2067 people who are smart phone users and drive at least once a day. The campaign aims at encouraging people to put aside their phone while driving.
