
Kofi Portuphy: NDC members are crying for Jobs
Kofi Portuphy, Chairman of the National Democratic Congress has announced the party has set a committee to create jobs for its members.
The committee is also known as Business Development Committee and the Chairman of the Party is Ekwow Spio Gabrah, the Trade Minister, said that the committee has the aim to addressing the cries of the members of the party for jobs.
Kofi Portuphy announced the new committee formation at Accra; he underscored the need to empower NDC members economically in order to attain the party activities.
He explained that the committee will look at the available opportunities for our people, and for ourselves to create jobs in private sector and possibly in private sector as well for our members.
He observed that people are worried for the jobs, there are the numbers of our members who have shown their initiatives and they have established many businesses and we can use their experiences to influence the job creation for our party. He indicated that the creating jobs for party members from the national level through to the level of constituency that has been great concern to him as a chairman.
He was convinced that by undertaking this initiative, we can strengthen them, empower them, both men and women so that they can be earn income and sustain the activities of NDC; particularly, attending weddings, attending outdooring, attending funerals and many other social activities.
He disclosed that sometimes when leaders of the party have to attend events in regions, local party members are often ill-prepared therefore, you will have to collect money form your pocket to help it out once you are visiting Accra.
