
According to the credible sources it is confirmed that due to the dumsor some private hospitals are laying off workers in Greater Accra region.
As skyrocketing operational costs that’s why hospitals are sending home the workers.
Starr news gathered the information in which they revealed that the now the health facilities are using a mass of revenue to influence medical equipment and in the treatments of patient because there is long hours of power cut,
Those workers are the health assistants who have being sent to homes.
The administrator of the Bengali Hospital, Emmanuel Nartey is one of the hardest hit in the Tema Metropolis, told that power outage has very negative impact on the services; he was speaking the Starr news.
He said that it is problematic and really affecting our delivery and moreover large number of our clients are insurance based and for the 8, 6, 7 months there are no payments so we have to utilize our internal funds, and we use these internal funds for paying staff and buying fuels and many other things.
He further told that if the situation of dumsor not improves, the hospital authorities would no other choice than to lay down some workers.
Patient of the Ridge Hospital, Accra might be paying for the electricity charges in near future if the situation remained same.
The Ridge Hospital in Accra have an obligation the Company over 300 thousand Cedis.
