President Mahama has put a blame of worsening energy crises in the country over the mobile usage.
Nowadays President is on State visit in the Gambia where he addressed to the Ghanaian community that the number of mobiles are reached to the to the total number of the people in the country and every mobile using little but drops makes the sea so these meager use of power for mobile also making the dumsor more worse.
He added that according to the static there are 25 million population in the country but on the other hand statics also showed that number of mobiles in the country are approximately 27 million, an these 27 million mobiles charged every night, meager but constant use making the energy crisis more deeper in its roots.
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has shown that the country is currently going through the 440 megawatt power shortage during off-peak hours and 650 megawatt power shortage during peak periods and it will be worse if it persist.
This power shortage has risen due to lower hydrology efficiency in dams likes Akosombo and also lack of gas to the various thermal plants of the country.
Therefore on Wednesday 18 February Akufo-Addo leading party NPP had gone out in the streets of Accra to carry the march against government of ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) on the poor handling of dumsor, bad economic devises.
The former president Akuffo-Addo led the large strength of demonstration participants that was about half a million on the streets of Accra who clad black and red to record their protest against government for running energy crises.
This ‘Won Gbo’ demonstration there were a huge participants considered as one of the biggest march ever country had in its diary.
Moreover the NPP has also announced another ‘Won Gbo’ demo of this nature in the Ashanti Regional Capital Kumasi for nest week where they also will record their protest again Mahama and its management team.
