
Andre Dede Ayew, Black Stars midfielder has apologized to the nation that they failed to bring the trophy of African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ghana even After 33 years.
At last Sunday night, Ghana lost final battle of trophy from the elephants of Ivory Coast after completing action period successfully but on penalties from 8-9 scores.
Dede who is awarded as best scorer of the tournament when giving his comments on the lost trophy said that it was just we were not lucky to get the trophy at last moment although we all tried hard to do so.
On Thursday morning he called his fans on Instagram by saying that he needs sometime to control his feelings, he has few has few days to reflect his emotion but he said in his comment that I apologized to all Ghanaian to not bring the trophy to the Ghana, our home, we tried hard, we all gave our best, but when the luck is not with you, the best remains lower and It happened.
No doubt, the loss whatever the reason it has gives pain, it hurts us, it hurts you as well. But we are optimistic that as the players are hungrier now we will be occupied with AFCON trophy to gift you soon, The Olympique Marseille winger said.
He further added that this pain of lost trophy makes us stronger and the day is not far to bring the cup to the home Ghana.
The award I won ‘ Goal King’ I dedicate to all Ghanaians, even we know that this award will not make you happy as the trophy could but the hard work we and I did in the tournament was not useless, we Ghanaian won the award of ‘ goal King’ and it is for you.
He ended his call to his fan on instagram by saying thanks to all Ghanaian for their support to him, to the team, he said thank you to believing in me, I could not achieve this credit without support of you people, he said, God bless you all at the end.
