Google Now App has extended its support to 40 third party applications by offering relevant cards to those applications which will be offered with the latest update.
Google Now App is a virtual assistant offered by Google and is a dominant app added to android environment. Google now just does not rely on Gmail history, instead it taps the data from different 40 apps. This means that you will be reminded of basic household tasks to credit bill payments.
Google Now is already using the cards from other Google apps and also some cards related to our location in case we have shared information of our location with it.
Google Now is rolling out the update that initially will incorporate cards from 40 different apps, which means that the cards can be updated and use whenever needed.
Google has taken the step in the light that user mostly access data through the native apps instead of browsers. So this update will bring the information directly through that app.
The card will appear contextually depending on location, time and relevance from all the 40 apps. Google Now is currently integrated with apps like Pandora, Traveladvisor, Lyft, shazam, Airbnb, instacart etc.
A simple scenario of Google Now working is that with it you start your day with the news headlines of the day, a Pandora app would help you select the music of your choice. If you are travelling to some place new Google Now will push the card from Tripadvisor containing a list of places nearby. Google Now will notify you if your favorite musician is playing in your town.
Although the update includes the apps from limited developers for now, but surely Google will partner with other developers soon. This feature will leave the other virtual assistants far behind.
