The Miss Universe international beauty scene may need to add a political relations competition after Saly Greige, Miss Lebanon, blamed Miss Israel for trying quite a lot of times to have a picture taken with her.
‘I was photo bombed’ – Miss Lebanon
A selfie highlighting the two contestants, as well as Miss Japan and Miss Slovenia, was posted on Doron Matalon’s Instagram account on Jan. 11, and has made an anger in Greige’s home country for seen with the Israeli beauty queen.
Greige is smiling in the photo and looks straight into the camera besides with the other three women.
Both the competitors have several pictures on their social media account looking with other contestants in the competition, which airs on Jan. 25.
But many Lebanese citizens are quite upset at their representative for seen with the Israeli since the two countries are strictly at war and have had numerous military battles in their history.
The two sides have been comparatively peaceful since the last major war in 2006, but if the Lebanese people travel to Israel they were put in prison there. Lebanon banned All Israeli-made products.
Greige tried to stop the blame — with some trying she be removed from the contest — in a message to all her supporters and Lebanese citizens on her Facebook page Saturday morning. She appealed to disclose the “truth behind the photo.”
“Since the 1st day of my appearance to participate in the Miss Universe contest, I was very careful to shun being in any photo or communication with Miss Israel (that tried numerous times to have a photo with me) … I have made a photo with Miss Japan, Miss Slovenia and myself; unexpectedly Miss Israel jumped in, took a selfie, and put it on her social media,”she wrote.
“This is what happened with me and I wish to have your full support in the Miss Universe contest,” she wrote.
Matalon replied to the controversy on her Instagram page on Sunday morning. She did not answer to the claims she had been stalking Greige, but said the situation makes her feel unhappy.”
