Asamoah Gyan, the Black Stars has suffered an injury during the training on Tuesday and is being monitored by the medical team ahead of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
It has been confirmed by the medical team, that the Al Ain star cannot be able to play a complete 90 minutes.
Black Stars cancel their final pre-Nations Cup friendly scheduled for today (Wednesday) at their camping base in Seville, Spain due to their captain’s injury to avoid any further damage.
We are doing everything possible to make sure that the Ghanaian captain Asamoah Gyan should play a complete game, said Ghana FA.
Now that there are few days left before the mega event to kick-off, Ghanaian Coach Grant is taking all the measures to avoid any further injuries to players.
Gyan semi-final penalty miss against the eventual winners Zambia led him to heavy criticism from the media and football lovers, which force him to take a temporary break from international football.
Other than the captain, two more players have also been declared unfit by the medical team, Frank Acheampong and Emmanuel Agyemang Badu.
Black Stars will be moving to their destination in Mongomo, Equatorial Guinea on Wednesday ahead of their first game against Senegal on January 19, 2015 before taking on tournament favorite Algeria and South Africa.
