GPRTU has reduced the transport fares to five percent.
GPRTU is the union of Ghana private roads and transport. The transport fares are reduced by them. As the fuel prices are lessened it was obvious that transport fares will also be reduced. So the union decided to reduce the transport fares. The reduction is of five percent in transport fares.
At the start of the year NPA national petroleum association announced ten percent in fuel prices because it was reduced in the world markets as a result NPA also reduced the fuel prices. The reduction of fuel prices leaded us to reduction in transport fares.
GPRTU decided this on Wednesday in a meeting that they should reduce the fares of transport so that Ghanaians should be able to use transport and the fuel price is already lessened so it won’t harm transport business.
Stephen Okudzeto secretary general of GPRTU confirmed the new fares of transport and said that this will take effect from 9th January 2015 on Friday. He also said that we will work more on the fares and fix the rate of fares so Ghanaians can avoid unneeded arguments. This will surely help the citizens and people can get benefits of it.
