Eating Fast-Food, a Wise Choice
The term ‘fast-food’ is used for food that takes no time to get ready in. Everyone loves fast-food so much that despite all the health hazards people don’t stop consuming it, which has led to a number of risk factors.
Fast-food contains all the food from burgers, French fries to sometimes salads that are thought to be healthy. The dressings of Salads at any fast-food restaurants contain Mayonnaise, Fried Chicken and bacon that is rich in saturated fat, a major risk factor for heart disease.
Here we are talking about the kind of food that appears to be the healthiest at the fast food restaurant, moving to greasy fries and double cheese burger is a lot more threatening.
Some researches conclude that the fast-food is loaded with so many calories that one meal is enough to fulfil your calories requirement for the entire day, yet it’s empty in nutritive value. Lacking the essential vitamins, minerals and fiber, fast-food leads its lovers to a gamble of their lives.
Many researches were performed for this matter, all of them support the synopsis that fast-food is rich in sodium, saturated fat and refined sugars that lead to a number of health problems like hypertension, heart diseases, stroke, cancer, lack of proper growth and motor function in toddlers and insulin resistance leading to type 2 diabetes.
But the question is that despite the awareness of fast-food hazards, people don’t seem to hold back their cravings of it, so how to make this junk food a healthy one? Yes consuming fast-food on daily basis or more than twice a week leads to problems or sometimes permanent damage. But grabbing your favorite meal from a fast-food restaurant every now and then isn’t a bad option.
You can also make a wise choice of your meal too by getting a wrap instead of a sandwich, apple slices instead of fries, getting grilled chicken or crispy chicken instead of fried chicken and going for healthier salad dressings then the one containing mayonnaise or fried chicken.
It was also proven in a research that fast-foods stimulate your body to produce such hormones that after eating it, you keep craving for more. It is a leading cause of obesity too. Because of large amounts of junk food consumption many children are now type 2 diabetic. This is usually thought to occur after middle age due to insulin resistance.
Well, it won’t be wrong if you alter the word ‘Fast–Food’ with ‘Junk Food’ because most of the time such restaurants are feeding you garbage.
Only way to get on the safe side is to go for wiser choices containing more fibers and vitamins and limiting your intake of such foods.
