Alfred Oko Vanderpuije Ghana’s great politician and respected Mayor of Accra said that Accra will have thirteen (13) new developed, modern and more established markets in Capital City, in upcoming years.

The Mayor of Accra added that markets will be constructed in the different areas of Accra like Salaga market, Makola market and Rawlings Park. He further said, his motives are to be supported in a decrease of hawking in the Capital city and do not make hawkers hurdles on the way.
Except Salaga and Makola markets, there are many other markets as we will definitely construct modern markets, listed in the capital city Accra, like Osu Night Market, the Kaneshie market, the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, Tema Station and several other places. These places will have many shops of different products also candles and lanterns will remain turned on in the night.

However, he thought, the capital city has a large number of hawkers and who disturb the pedestrian and traffic system, which made our city unpleasant, also The Accra Metropolitan Assembly has appointed workers to remove those hawkers but they could not properly able to solve the problems. Therefore, we planned to construct 13 new well established modern markets, because of that our city becomes more developed and the hawkers will be removed also, and problem will be solved.
