
Ghana National Farmers Day 2014
Ghana National Farmers Day 2014 will be celebrated on December 5 and the Interior Ministry has declared an official holiday.
The statement signed by the deputy interior minister, James Agalga announces the official holiday on Ghana’s National Farmers Day 2014.
The Interior Minister, Mark Owen Woyongo thus advised the people of Ghana to celebrate the day as it deserves to be.
The upcoming national Farmers day of Ghana will be celebrated under the theme of “Eat what you grow”.
The idea to celebrate the national farmers’ day was initiated by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to honor the hard working Farmers, who by their dedicated work make available the basic necessities of life for the country.
Every year, on the first Friday of December, the farmers who show extraordinary performance and skills in their respective fields are awarded with the certificates of honor and other prizes.

Alhaji Awudu Karim belonged to the District Kasena Nankana of the upper east region was declared as the Best National Farmer of Ghana in 2013.
