Surprisingly African giants Ghana Black Stars are lower in the latest Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) rankings, then tiny West African country, Cape Verde, released on Thursday, October 23.
Cape Verde is currently ranked at 33 in the International Football Association (FIFA) ranking while placed fourth in Africa.
Black Stars surprisingly are placed at 35 in the FIFA ranking while fifth on the continent following their poor performance in the recent tournament, both in the FIFA World Cup and AFCON qualifiers 2015.
Meanwhile, according to new ranking, Black Stars has been dropped two places after in September they were well placed on 33 released by FIFA, and leading the continental ranking.
Super Eagles, Nigeria (current African Champions) has been ranked on 44th in the world and ninth in the African continent list.
Although, Nigeria along with Algeria put an impressive performance in the FIFA World Cup, but they fail to continue that in the Africa Cup qualifiers where they are struggling to book a place in the next year Africa Cup of Nations.
With one win from four games so far, current champions are third in Group A, South Africa is first with eight points while Congo is on second with seven points.
