The Ghana Medical Association has blamed government of chasing to annex the powers of the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA) by organizing the management of the tier-two pension offering of public workers.

About twelve (12) labor groups are recently on a nationwide hit hard to power government to pay their tier-two pension into a privately managed account by the unions.
But government has explain the decision as “unlawful” and “unnecessary,” claiming that over Ghc440 million is with the Bank of Ghana and is yet to be spend money.
telling on the Citi Breakfast Show, the Deputy General Secretary of the GMA, fairness Duffo Yankson said the NPRA had the volume to manage activities of the fund and antagonistic property made by the Employment and Labor Relations Minister.
According to the Minister of Labor and Employment, Haruna Iddrisu “the President has a duty and accountability to protect the fund against any risks.”

“They are the manager, each scheme, fund manager, custodian, administrator, is supposed to give at fixed intervals reports to them. They have the capacity to ensure that the listed investments flat case for transporting papers are followed. Anybody who errs will be authorized, so the oversight accountability has already been given to the NPRA. It is not with the minister or the president,” he order and expect.
