Opposition of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is planning failed flagbearer candidate, Alan Kyerematen be accused with deliberately causing financial loss to the party.
Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie said that the presidential seekers ‘political blunder’ has caused in a waste of money and earn the party could have used to take legal action its 2016 electioneering campaign.
Sir John as he is famously called added the comment shortly after Nana Akufo-Addo was announced winner of the flagbearership election.
Over 140,000 delegates overwhelmingly permitted him, with 117,413 as the NPP’s flagbearer polls representing a record 94.35 percent of total votes cast in the 2016.
On the other hand Mr. Kyerematen is able to to poll only 5,908 votes representing only 4.75%.
From this performance, in an exclusive interview with Sir John on Adom TV said the former Trade Minister should have to give back the monies which were lost to the party.
He said in an interview that Mr. Kyerematen after his poor presentation after the Special Electoral College voted to wean down of candidates from seven to five should have left for the race decently.
“I knew the Alan Kyerematen decision to contest would be an exercise so he should have withdrawn from the race to protect his self-respect and power in the party” he added.
The former General Secretary explained as unlucky how Mr. Kyerematen unsuccessful to heed to advice in the name of exercising his democratic right.
This, nevertheless, Sir John said the former Trade Minister would be given a part to play in Akufo-Addo’s campaign team.
