Besides featuring thinnest tablet property, only 6.1mm, Apple is rolling out many new exciting features with latest generation. The faster, elegant tab will start receiving pre-orders from tomorrow.
iPad Air 2 is powered by a custom Apple A8X chipset, which is 12 times faster than the original iPad’s A4 chip while the graphics efficiency is 180 times faster. The A8X chipset is specifically designed for the iPad Air 2.
M8 Chip is also integrated with Air 2 to track motion and a barometric pressure sensor which developers can benefit from to make apps.
The Cupertino giant has brought Touch ID fingerprint sensor from the iPhone to tablet lineup. Like on the iPhone it would be used to unlock the iPad. The screen resolution is as same as it was in the previous one, although it will come with anti-reflective coating, cutting down the reflection off the screen upto 56 percent.
The camera has been updated with 8 MP iSight camera, capable to shoot 1080p video. The front camera has also been upgraded, coming with new sensor and improved face detection.
iPad Air 2 will offer three color variants Silver, Gold and Space Gray.
iPad Air 2 starts at $499 for 16 GB, 64 GB storage at $599 and the higher end model comes for $699. LTE-capable version, though, will cost you additional $130.
The pre-orders are starting from 17 Oct. with the shipment in the next week. Currently the iPad Air 2 will ship to selective countries while the worldwide availability is expecting in upcoming month.
