Giving speech to the Ghanaian community, President John Mahama has charged and motivates people to stand up against corruption which has become a worse in the country.

The President John Mahama added the “inappropriate rate of corruption recorded in the country and the reason is institutional weakness that take advantage and had created loopholes for organizations and individuals.”
Ghana is dealing with a large number of corrupt scandals that has rocked the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.
Notable, Alfred Woyome, , the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) project, a payment of Ghc51 million to businessman, , Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA) scandal, and recently the growing corrupt acts which took place during Ghana’s participation in the 2014 World Cup tournament.
Lauretta Lamptey as a Commissioner of the Commission of Human Right and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), has also been in the queue for wasting huge amount of money on the renovation of her official bungalow.
Some findings by the Judgment Debt Commission have also revealed a number of shady deals from public officials that have come before it.
President John Mahama in Massachusetts, USA is addressing the Ghanaian community, his 10-day official visit to that country said the Government was revising the procurement laws from where the corrupt activities were envisaged to be emanating from.
President John Mahama had directed the Chief of Staff to write to all organizations to feed the Presidency with the housing system for their chief executives and their management staff.
The directions were given only after receiving reports from various organizations that his administration would be in the position to determine how to handle and avoid waste in the public sector.
Government appointees will have the pre-paid electricity meters installed in the houses, where they would be forced to pay for their own utility bills.
Professor Kwamena Panford, Ghanaian community leader in the US said about President Mahama that they had a strong and vibrant association, over the years, forcing members to contribute in all forms towards the socio-economic development in Ghana.
