The ongoing discussions about whether Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, the NPP presidential candidate will leave the party or not, after the National Delegates Congress to elect a flagbearer, is still the hottest topic within the party members.
The supporters of Alan Kyerematen and two times presidential aspirant, Nana Akufo-Addo have already exchanged some harsh words ahead of the October 18 congress, which raise fears of a break-up in the party.
But on the other hand, Alan Kyerematen also known as “Alan Cash” has dismissed all the fears of a possible separation within the party members after the congress.
In an interview with Madina based OMAN FM, he said, “This tension has raised some concerns among the supporters and party members, but there is nothing like that because these kind of situation can come in all the political parties sooner or later. And people believing that I may leave the party after losing to Nana Addo for the presidential slot is also based on rumors, there is no truth behind this news.
A passionate member of a Nana Addo’s campaign team and a former NPP lawmaker said, “No matter what happens, “Alan Cash” will be an NPP member forever.”
Despite these tensions between the two gentlemen, NPP is still united ahead of the 2016 general elections, said Kofi Jumah.
Maxwell posted on Facebook, “For your information folks, I know Alan. He means it. He will ensure peace in the party.”
