Ghana Gas supply
The Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria and the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers and the Petroleum have called off their five day old strike.
The strike activated a cut in supply of gas to Ghana which causes a major energy crisis in the country.
After the shortage of gas supply, all the power plants across the country has been shut down, which worsen the load shedding in the country.
The workers called off strike means that the Nigerian high authorities will resume gas supply to Ghana.
After collaboration between the Nigerian Minister of Petroleum, Mrs Diezani Allison-Madueke and the Management of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, both agreed to issue a statement related to strike.
On Monday, the oil workers have also ordered their members to go on an indefinite strike in protest against NNPC’s alleged refusal to address unresolved pension issues concerning workers in the oil industry, which can add more problems to the authorities.
The Ghanaian officials said, the resumption of gas supply will improve the electricity situation in the country.
