Oscar Pistorius is hours away to hear his future, judge Thokozile Masipa would give her verdict on Thursday in the Pretoria high court over his murder trial.
The Paralympics athlete is undergoing six and half month spanned trail where judge has to decide whether the athlete shot her girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, deliberately or mistakenly.
Pistorius trail grabbed worldwide attention since it begins from March 3. The prosecutions claim that 27-year-old had planned to kill her girlfriend, although defense side says the shot was a terrible mistake.
66-year-old, Thokozile Masipa, is one of leading judge in South Africa, have a background filled with lots of social works and journalism, who became first black judges in the country after apartheid era was over in 1994. Msasipa has record to hear tough cases and handling strictly the criminals who victimized women and it wouldn’t be easy for Pistorius lawyer to persuade her over his claim that athlete mistakenly shot Steenkamp through a closed toilet door.
Pistorius asserted he killed her girlfriend through a toilet cubical door in a bathroom, a very unfortunate incident of his life, at his Pretoria home on 2013 Valentine’s Day.
If the 27-year athlete found guilty to kill Steenkamp he would face at least 25 years in jail whereas if judge verdicts murder without pre-planning may carry a sentence of 15 years behind bars.
