A few overseas students are fleeing Ghana of the University of Ghana are reportedly fleeing from “Ghana” the main reason that is being told for the
fleeing of the students is the fear among the students of a possible Ebola outbreak.
The students, mainly from universities in the US were given the option to continue their courses back home or defer their courses should there be an outbreak of Ebola here in Ghana.
All the students are pretty much frustrated and anxious about the current scenario in which they are hovering around at the moment. One of the student in an interview said that losing an entire semester is a risk they are not willing to take.
Several Ebola cases have been so far tested in Ghana but all have proved to be negative so far. This dangerous and lethal virus has so far caused the death of approximately 2,000 people in the West African sub region so far and the numbers are rising with every passing day. According to the estimations by the experts the numbers could possibly double in just a month. These stats can give you an idea at what pace the virus is traveling and what devastation it can and is causing. We can really understand the fear of the students. Let’s just pray and hope that this disgusting virus dies away soon.
