Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the two time leader of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) said, I am not worried about the ongoing tensions within the party over who challenges me in the presidential primary scheduled for October 18.
“I am not worried because I love competition, and I have always welcomed it. The most important thing will be on the day of election, October 18; the party members have no choice left, then to speak out their minds, so that everything will be open, said Akufo Addo.
In the first ever Special Electoral College of the NPP, Nana Addo received over 80 per cent of the votes cast, there are rumors that the several members believe in the party for that the four participants to stand down.
Joe Ghartey has already removed his name from the presidential primary, which means the remaining candidates are Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, Francis Addai-Nimoh and Kofi Osei-Ameyaw to contest for the next month’s conference.
Nana Addo gets 100 percent poll during a campaign tour in the Upper West Region in the August 31 elections, and he believes that the delegates will again trust him and give him an emphatic win again.
He said, Sir John used to say a phrase “fear delegates” but I used to say “trust delegates”, especially when they act in the true sense of the word.
He assured that the representatives should continue to be in politics because he thinks that they are good for Ghana.
And as far as I am concerned, I am not coming into power for corruption, I am not coming to steal your money because I am not interested in that. I am not in politics to make money for myself or my family.
He added, “I am in politics with a dream, and I make sure that it will help transform Ghana and bring success to our people.
