John Agyekum Kufuor, the former President said, there is a major increase in the depression of a common man in Ghana over the failure of government to stop corruption.
There are a number of government officials who have been named in a number suspected corrupt deals and the award of agreements.
According to the reports, the numbers of contracts under the supervision of the Savannah Accelerated Authority (SADA) and other local government projects have not been carried out according to the plan but the contractors were paid millions of cedis.
The numerous incidents of corruption have annoyed Ghanaians with many demanding the government to take strict action and find out the guilty ones.
The Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) has called on the government to provide adequate funding to the anti-corruption agencies so that they can fight against corruption.
Mr. John Kufuor said, lack of government interest to fight against corruption is the main reason behind Ghanaians frustration.
Everyone is expecting some new strategies from the government, but with the present condition in the country, everyone is unhappy, said Mr. John Kufuor.
The former president, in an interview with the BBC said, there is much more to be done if we really have to fight this corruption. But, we hope that with time, corruption will be tackled.
