Abdul Waris, the Ghanaian striker is possible to miss the mega event after having a severe thigh injury, confirmed by the Black Stars medical officials.
The medical team will be with the star player to make all efforts possible that Abdul Waris will be declared fit before the Black Stars opener against the USA on June 16.
Waris, who played in Valenciennes on loan for the second half of the last season damaged his quadriceps on Monday during a warm-up against Korea in Miami and could possibly be ruled out of the Mundial.
Team Doctor Baba Adam told the official site of the Ghana FA, the injury is not a serious one, but it has to be taken care of and managed well. We have already done an MRI on the quadriceps and what we realized is that, there was a tear.
We are hoping that he will be fit before the FIFA deadline (June 15) and play against the USA, said Adam.
