The President of Ghana, John Mahama has assigned tasks to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) to plan some strategies immediately to defend any possible attack on the country.
John Mahama said, we have to keep an eye on the activities of Boko Haram and other terrorist groups in the region who have threatened global peace.
He expresses his views while addressing to the Ghana Armed Forces at Burma Camp on Tuesday.
The President was presence there to brief on the state of the economy and steps the government is taking to tackle the current financial and energy challenges.
He said, we need to restructure the Ghanaian economy, which is basically dependent on commodity prices.
He has promised that soon the government would come up with a new strategy to save the country from such a crisis again.
John Mahama praised the Ghanaian army for maintaining peace and security within the country, also charged the soldiers to guarantee that there are no external attacks on the country.
His visit also includes inspection of 37 military hospital, where he inspected the ongoing accommodation facility government is constructing to accommodate over a hundred officers and their families.
According to the contractors, this project will be ready by the end of the year.
