Real Madrid will be without their star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo when they will take on Barcelona in the final of the King’s Cup on Wednesday due to knee and thigh muscle problems, said coach Carlo Ancelotti on Tuesday.
The Ballon d’Or winner and captain of the Portugal team has already missed Real Madrid last three games since getting injured against Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal on 2 April.
It is confirmed by the Coach Ancelotti on Friday that the star player will not be in action against Barcelona, but probably might recover against their clash with Valencia.
Ancelotti added, Ronaldo is already out along with some key players which include Jese, Sami Khedira, Alvaro Arbeloa and Marcelo.
He said, we have a lot of confidence in this team and Ronaldo absence will not affect us in the final of the King’s Cup on Wednesday.
This will be their 228th meeting and a repeat of the 2011 Cup final which was also played at the Mestalla, where Ronaldo’s goal secured extra time victory for the whites.
Cristiano Ronaldo is the top scorer in La Liga and the UEFA Champions League this season and will be eager to come back against Bayern Munich for their semi-final clash in the Champions League.
There are still some important games left in the season as we will not take any risk playing him.
Barcelona has won this cup 26 times and after crashing out of the Champions League and moved to third place in La Liga after losing to Granada 1-0 on Saturday, they will be eager to come back to form against the whites.
