The government of Ghana has denied all reports regarding any hiding of Mabel Agyemang, the former Chief Justice of Gambia in an Embassy in the Gambia.
The Ghanaian government revealed that the former Chief Justice is in Ghana and we are very much in a hurry to solve her issue with the Yahya Jammeh, the Gambian President.
Murtala Mohammed, Deputy Minister for Information and Media Relations, said, she is nowhere in Gambia, and according to sources she is currently in Ghana and we have already had a meeting with her.
According to the sources, the former CJ took refuge at an Embassy in Banjul after she was dismissed by the Gambian President Yahya Jammeh.
The Gambian President in his statement explains the former Chief Justice as “a thief and a criminal” on Gambian national television.
The Deputy Information Minister said, we have to find out a solution regarding this matter between the President of Ghana and the President of the Gambia.
There has been no reason given for the removal of Chief Justice Mabel Agyemang, who was elected as Chief Justice in August last year, but on the other hand the government of Ghana says, we have to solve this issue as soon as possible regarding the situation.
