Kofi Boakye Yiadom, the High-life musician who stays true to the rudiments of the genre also known as by his stage name, Kofi B, has heavily criticized on Charter House organizers for the upcoming annual Ghana Music Awards, describing them as full of dishonest people.
Kofi Boakye is one of those artists who are not happy with the nomination process by adding that the organizers has lost direction and authority in organizing the awards for musicians in Ghana.
On the other hand, the hitmaker, Akua Attaa also express his view in an interview by stating that he doesn’t need any award from the Charter House.
My song does not fall in any of the categories this year, so probably I guess next year you will see it in any of the category, said Kofi Boakye.
But, I don’t want them to be chosen in any of the categories because of dishonesty, hypocrisy and unfair treatment from organizers towards some of us.
A true music lover doesn’t work for awards, he just loves to give good music to fans and to promote the culture, that’s all, he added.
He added, since the beginning of this award, VGMA board has never nominated me and for that reason, I believe these awards are based on favoritism and useless.
He questioned to Charter House, when my hit songs “Koforidua flowers” and “Akua Attaa”, were released and top the charts but still I didn’t get any nomination form Charter House.
So when you look at the kind of music they nominates, I feel very sad, songs like Tonga and others, are they better songs than mine? I think Charter House organizers are confused and if we don’t care, one day they will kill our music industry.
