MUSIGA, the Musicians Union of Ghana has exposed accusation by Mad Time Entertainment that the music body MUSIGA has stolen their academic property as told by the Ghana Music Week.
MUSIGA will soon launch their second edition of the event which will take place from March 3 to March 9 at the National Theatre, Accra Sports Stadium and some other selected venues in Accra.
Just after MUSIGA launched their 2014 edition of the event, Fennec Okyere and rapper Kwaw Kese have backed the president of the association, Mr. Bice ‘Obour’ Osei Kuffour along with the music union MUSIGA to go as they have planned with the festival.
Nana Yaw Osei-Darkwa, Communications Director of GMW Festival reacted to the blame by the Mad Time Entertainment in an interview on Airtel Entertainment News on Drive Time with Joy FM Monday said, MUSIGA has not launched any event with this name Ghana Music Week.
We are working on the event GMW Festival 2014, we have nothing to do with the Ghana Music Week launch, he added.
Nana Yaw Osei-Darkwa said, the report that is being published by Fennec Okyere on Monday have been denied by him, in which he claims that before the 2013 edition of the event, MUSIGA had to beg him before that event could come off.
The Ghana Music Week 2013, was launched in September 2012 after presented in the press conference in Accra on January 2013 before the main event took place between the 4th and 10th of March, 2013.
The GMW Festival Communications Director said, I want to ask a simple question to Fennec, when did he register Ghana Music Week?
When asked what GMW stands for, Nana Yaw Osei-Darkwa said, it is our new brand that we launched last year. There is still confusion, but now “we will like to hold that to our chest for now.”
