In GYEEDA corruption case nineteen criminal charges have been filed against the former National Coordinator of the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA) which was previously named as National Youth Employment Programme, Abuga Pele and the CEO of Goodwill International Group (GIG), Philip Akpene Assibit.
The new charges replaced the earlier 19 charges against the two persons.
The 1st suspect, Mr. Assibit has been hit with 11 new charges. These charges include defrauding by wrong deceptions and dishonesty causing financial loss to public property. All those 11 charges have connection with high amounts. But the former National Coordinator of GYEEDA Mr. Assibit appealed not guilty to all the charges in Court on Tuesday.
On the other side the 2nd suspect, Mr. Pele, is hit with 8 new charges. Mr. Pele is the Member of Parliament for Chiana Paga who also appealed not guilty to all charges against him.
The charges include purposely misusing the state resources by approving payments to Goodwill International Group, along with deliberately causing financial loss to the state.
