Almost one billion Smartphones were shipped last year, with the reports is that Samsung will become the largest leading Smartphone supplier, news from the new survey.
The latest reports from the IDC research is that, more than 1.004 billion Smartphones were shipped last year, marking a 38.4% increase from the previous year.
South Korea’s Samsung was on top with the bulk of that figure, followed by Apple and China’s Huawei.
IDC said, this is the first time where more than one billion smartphones has been shipped in a single year.
Ryan Reith, program director with IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker said, the reason for people buying Smartphones are large screen devices and low cost.
He added, one of the two, the main reason is the low cost which makes the difference.
Most a time’s cheaper devices are not attractive, but in this case the story is different, he added.
The majority of the sales is happening in China and India, where $150 Smartphones are bringing a solid computing experience to the hands of many.
