Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the Minister of Sports and Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC) has placed another winning amount of $100,000 (about N16m) for the Super Eagles, if they make it to the final of the African Nations Championship by beating the Ghana Black Stars in the semi-final.
He announced last Saturday, the bonus of $100,000 will be awarded to the Super Eagles by the NSC after Nigeria emerges has a winner in the quarter-final beating Morocco 4-3 in extra time, Nigeria after the first half of the match was 3-0 down to Morocco.
The minister added, the team will get the money for their quarter-final victory over the Morocco before taking on Ghana Black Stars in Wednesday semi-final clash with the Super Eagles.
Ghana Black Stars beat DR Congo 1-0 in yesterday quarter-final to place themselves in the semi-final against the Super Eagles.
He added, we are hopeful of Super Eagles making it to the final after the passion, discipline and commitment, they have shown against the Morocco.
The atmosphere is splendid in the country after Super Eagles yesterday win against the Morocco. These players deserve to be the champions of the African Nations Championship 2014.
Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, the Speaker of the House of Representatives said, after their victory over Morocco, Super Eagles have to go all the way to bring the CHAN trophy home for the first time.
Super Eagles will take on Ghana Black Stars in the semi-final game on Wednesday.
