Kennedy Agyapong, the outspoken New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Assin Central has mentioned clearly that he will give his full support and stand by Nana Akufo-Addo in case he is ready to make a third submission for the presidency.
He added, my statement has been accepted by the public, despite the uproar, as Nana Akufo-Addo is also a party candidate ahead of the 2016 general elections.
Kennedy Agyapong said, I am with him and I will give him my full support because the majority of the Ghanaians believe that he is the key to NPP to their success in 2016.
Kennedy Agyapong confirmation came after the NPP General Secretary and some other executive members of the party openly confirmed their support for Nana Addo following the rejection of the request challenging the acceptability of President John Mahama by the Supreme Court.
After the support for the Akufo-Addo, there has been pressure on him to contest the flagbearership position of the party.
The 2012 NPP presidential candidate, has postponed his visit to the country due to some personal reasons, while initially he is expected to be back in the country on January 27 to declare his political future.
Talking to an Accra based radio station Oman FM Wednesday; Kennedy Agyapong says NPP has no other choice left them to bring him back because he is the people’s choice.
The Assin Central MP said, NPP is the only solution to Ghanaians problems after what John Mahama administration has jumped the country into different problems.
He added, if Akufo-Addo decided to retire from his political career, then my other choice is Alan Kyeremanten for the 2016 General Elections.
He stated, Alan Kyeremanten is a good choice for President than any other member of the failed National Democratic Congress (NDC) management.
After he requested party members to vote against the current NPP administrators at the party’s national delegate’s congress in March, by adding that there is no place for dishonest people in the current party management.
He ends by saying, “Honesty is the key to NPP’s unity; we need committed, dedicated and honest people to steer the affairs of the party.”
