The ex-Ghana Black Stars Captain, Stephen Appiah said I am ready with my heart and soul to serve National duty at any position.
If I would be called for Ghana Black Stars technical team job, it is an honour for me to accept it and work for them.
Later he explained, at this age I will not be called up as a player in the team. I think we should give chance to new players so that Ghana will perform better in the upcoming World Cup.
Talking in an interview, Stephen Appiah said; never say never in your life, because you never know what will happen tomorrow, but to me I have taken my final decision.
Our former players leave so that we can play for Ghana, now it’s our turn to leave the paved for our younger generation who are coming with a hope to do something big for Ghana.
Stephen Appiah who led the team in the last World Cup in South Africa says, there are many examples of players such as, Nwanko Kanu and Rigobert Song, both of them assisting their countries in different ways, and I think that is not a bad idea if I do the same.
His views came in reaction to media reports which says, Coach Kwasi Appiah will introduce some former players including him to assist in the technical works during the World Cup in Brazil.
Stephen Appiah in an interview says, when I read this news on the internet, I feel proud. Because during my days as a player I really work hard, so someone at that level recommends my name, it’s an honour for me.
He admits, Germany and Ghana Black Stars will be the teams to pass the group stage but he warns Black Stars against USA will also be a tough game.
The game against the Americans, I think is the most difficult one because beating them twice in the last two meetings in World Cups, they may come up with a full force but I believe in Black Stars they are too strong for them, Stephen Appiah added.
