Asamoah Gyan, the captain of the Ghana Black Stars is one of those 10 players that have been shortlisted for this year’s Africa Player of the year award.
The members of the committee has shortlisted from 25 players to 10 in the Player of the year category and also 21 players to 5 for African Player of the Year (Based in Africa) category.
CAF official website has confirmed that the Head Coaches of the National Associations affiliated to CAF will vote to decide the winners in the both categories.
The winner of this year’s Player of the year will be announced at the Glo-Caf Awards Gala on Thursday, January 9, 2014 in Lagos, Nigeria.
Yaya Toure of Ivory Coast is last year’s winner of this award while Mohamed Aboutrika of Egypt is the winner for the African Player of the Year (Based in Africa) award.
