Despite lost 2-1 to Egypt in the 2nd leg, Ghana Black Stars qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2014 on aggregate 7-3.
Goals from the striker Amr Zaki in the 25th minute and substitute Gedo in the 83rd minute make Egypt lead 2-0 but Kevin Prince Boateng silence the crowd with his goal in the 88th minute of the game, but cannot avoid a defeat against Egypt in Cairo yesterday.
James Kwesi Appiah, the Ghanaian Coach is proud of his player’s performance despite losing in Cairo. We are not worried that we lost, what matter most is we fight till end, and qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2014 Brazil.
He added, the way Ghana Black Stars are performing at the moment, we can cause some big upset in the upcoming FIFA World cup 2014 Brazil.
Talking to a sport channel, he said, our main goal was to reach the FIFA World Cup and we are happy that we achieve it, although we lost on the night but our fans are happy with the team performance.
Asamoah Gyan, the captain of the Ghana Black Stars said, losing 1-2 on the night but qualifying with the aggregate score of 7-3 is something that everyone should be proud of, and let’s start our preparation for the upcoming World cup.
James Kwesi Appiah will lead the Ghana Black Stars for their third straight World Cup qualification.
In 2006 FIFA World Cup held in Germany, Ghana ended their campaign in the second round when they lose to Brazil 3-0.
While, in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa they lose to Uruguay on penalties in the quarterfinals after the game finished 1-1.
Now our main focus is on the preparation for the big event coming up next year in June, and as I see my players we will rock in Brazil.
Apart from Ghana the other nations that will represent Africa in the FIFA World Cup 2014 Brazil include, Nigeria, Cameroon, Ivory Coast and Algeria.
