FIFA has received a request from Ghana FA confirming about the security for the Ghana Black Stars when they will face the Egyptians in Cairo for the return leg of the final FIFA World Cup playoff before participating in the main round.
The world football organisation FIFA says they will reply to the Ghana FA request within some few hours.
The Government of Ghana last week wrote to FIFA about asking the detail plan over security, and should explain to us by the Egyptians authorities before we will allow our team to play in Cairo, Egypt.
Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, the Minister for Youth and Sports wrote to the world governing body FIFA asking for a tight security for Ghana Black Stars especially what is going on in the country after the removal of President Mohamed Morsi from leadership, Egypt capital Cairo is under the fire with a series of attacks, deaths and riots by the fans of President Mohamed Morsi.
FIFA confirms that we have received a request from Ghana FA, so soon we will clear all there concerned about security issues.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has even requested before to the World Governing Body FIFA about changing the venue, but has been denied by the FIFA after they clear Cairo as the final venue for the game between Ghana Black Stars and Egypt.
But, FIFA responded to the GFA, after a team visit Egypt to look at the preparation for the game and also to see the security plan prepared by the Egyptian authorities.
FIFA has already written to the officials asking them to give the guarantee over security concerned raise by the Ghana FA.
A Ghana FA spokesperson says, we only need a complete protection for our team players, technical staff, other members and our fans that will fly to Egypt for this final battle before the FIFA World Cup 2014.
