Speaker of former President John Kufuor is calling for a detailed inspection of his statement that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is an Akan party.
The statement is more fictional than authentic, Frank Agyakum believes, but he recommended that party leaders must solve the issue entirely.
His remarks follow claim by an important member of the party, Joseph Ayikoi-Otoo that the NPP will persist in opposition if the party does not find the solution for Ashanti-Akyem group within the party.
Mr. Agyakum said Citi FM the Ashanti-Akyem dispute is formation of an opposition plan to degrade the party and was frustrated that some followers of the NPP have into the dispute and now parroting it.
He said having been a part of the NPP for many years, he can confirm the reality that the NPP is a broad based party whose members belongs to different ethnic groups from all over the country.
He further said it is a time for the party to seriously look at the problem whether it is an assumption or authentic.
“We should approach this subject with a lot of care… If anyone has brought it up it’s better to look into it so that if there is reality in it, we clear it endlessly.” Mr. Agyakum stated
