
Globacom official statement, the previous sponsor of Ghana Premier League Headline has promised to pay all the debt owed to football association.
Glo took over as the headline sponsor of the league for the five year deal in December 2008 for $15m. According to the deal Glo has to pay $3m per season to all the clubs participating in the Ghana premier league till 2013/14.
Currently, Glo Mobile Ghana, as told by the Dominic Icha, Head of Marketing Communications says his company is determined to settle the debt issues with the clubs which is $5.5m.
In an agreement with the FA, the clubs agreed to leave 10 percent of the amount only if Glo promise to clear their debt before the end of May 2012.
After the discount Glo has to pay $2.3m but since they have not fulfill their promise now the clubs are demanding $2.5m along with the total amount for the 2011/2012 season.
