Ghana President John Mahama chaired the National Security Council’s meeting today this morning to assess the performance of the security before the election petition verdict.
The National Security Council meeting which was chaired by Ghana President also appraise the security situation after the verdict and review plans that would ensure perpetual peace and unity in the country.
The Deputy Minister for Information and Media Relations Mr. Felix Kwakye Ofosu announced this during the daily media briefings at the Flagstaff House, Kanda.
Similar kind of meetings were held before the election petition verdict and today’s meeting was to go through the previous achievements and to initiate other measures that would provide satisfactory security in the country.
The Deputy Minister said the emotions that had overcame the country before the election petition verdict became a national concern and due to that it encouraged that that day was marked as the most peaceful day in the country.
He also said that Government would take all measures that would ensure permanent peace and harmony for Ghanaians to perform their duties without any kind of fear.
