Power Sharing will raise the corruption in the country said the Retired Diplomat K. B. Asante.
According to Mr K. B. Asante the calls for eliminating ‘winner-takes-all’ syndrome “sounds alright but it’s a recipe for disaster, a recipe for sharing corruption.”
On Power Sharing issue he said: ‘I am not happy at all about this sharing power. Eventually you share corruption, which is not what we want.”
His concerns on the power sharing issue came on the back of calls by the Chairman of NDC, Dr. Kwabena Adjei and members of the public that political parties do away with the winner takes all syndrome.
Talking further on the power sharing issue He said that the political parties are there for different solutions to the problems of the country. ‘Let those who have one set of opinion get to one side, but if we are having a unity government it should be for a purpose.”
”Let the parties have definite policies, they should all have a plan”; K. B. Asante said Ghana is getting polarized because the mind-set is ”not correct and we have nothing to think about”.
The former ambassador K. B. Asante said he supports all politicians coming together for a particular purpose. ”If it is for a particular purpose, yes; but not just to come together and loot state money, which will lead to corruption.”
